Debaryomyces fungi are budding yeasts commonly found in the environment and used in the food industry. Debaryomyces hansenii (formerly Candida famata) is a salt-tolerant marine species sometimes involved in INVASIVE CANDIDIASIS and CANDIDEMIA.
