Anatomy

Promyelocytic Leukemia Nuclear Bodies

Spherical intranuclear membraneless bodies nucleated by PROMYELOCYTIC LEUKEMIA PROTEIN and various other proteins containing small ubiquitin-related modifier (SUMO) interaction motif (SIM) and/or sumoylated proteins (e.g., Sp100 protein). Promyelocytic leukemia nuclear bodies regulate posttranslational modifications of partner proteins (e.g., SUMOYLATION) which in turn lead to modulation of various biological processes.

Structured Summary

Abstract

Spherical intranuclear membraneless bodies nucleated by PROMYELOCYTIC LEUKEMIA PROTEIN and various other proteins containing small ubiquitin-related modifier (SUMO) interaction motif (SIM) and/or sumoylated proteins (e.g., Sp100 protein). Promyelocytic leukemia nuclear bodies regulate posttranslational modifications of partner proteins (e.g., SUMOYLATION) which in turn lead to modulation of various biological processes.
